Kennel Assistant
Full Time • North Haven
The Animal Haven, a no-kill shelter for homeless and abandoned cat and dogs, is looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant (40 hours a week) whose responsibilties are:
- Feeding and caring for the cats and dogs at the shelter
- Cleaning the shelter and all of the animal areas in accordance with the shelter's cleaning protocols
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas of the shelter, including the kitchen, sanitation and laundry rooms
- Medicating any sick animals as directed by the Medical Coordinator and/or Shelter Manager
- Walking the dogs and providing them with enrichment
- Practicing safe animal handling (with respect to the dogs and cats)
- Bringing animals to and from the vet, as needed
- Following the work schedule as posted and maintaining accurate time records
- Performing other duties as directed by the Shelter Manager, Medical Coordinator and/or Adoption Coordinator
Must love animals and must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Previous shelter, kennel or animal handling experience required.
